After impressing casting directors at his audition, the son of Boyzone band-member Keith Duffy was cast in Hollyoaks, despite not having much acting experience.

And even though his time on the series was short-lived, the young actor enthralled viewers with a juicy kidnap storyline.

Viewers also enjoyed watching how the relationship with Declan Brady and his estranged dad Brendan played out in the soap.

Jay was just 14 when he appeared on Hollyoaks, so it’s safe to say his fresh-faced looks and floppy hair are now nowhere to be seen.

Since leaving the soap ten years ago, Jay has continued to pursue a career in acting.

In 2014, he landed the one episode role of Ari in popular series Vikings.

Jay can also be seen in a new film release this year, Handsome Devil, a drama about two boarding school kids that form an unlikely friendship.

When Jay’s not acting, he enjoys posting snaps of his life to social media.

Over 13,000 people follow his Instagram account, where he’s partial to a photo of his cute pet dogs and some cheeky topless selfies.
