Denver Broncos’ Jerry Jeudy arrested for ‘criminal tampering & domestic violence’ over ‘dispute’ with mom of his infant

DENVER Broncos star Jerry Jeudy faces criminal tampering and domestic violence charges following a dispute with the mother of his one-month-old child, said police.

Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown clarified on Thursday that there was no physical contact during the alleged dispute between Jeudy and the mother of his infant child.

The domestic violence charge is due to the fact that Jeudy and the woman share a one-month-old child together. The charge of criminal tampering stems from the removal of property, said police.

Sheriff Brown said Jeudy was accused of withholding the baby's car seat, medical records, and the mother's wallet.

The Broncos' wide receiver was arrested in Colorado between 11.30am and 12.30pm local time on Thursday. He was taken into custody without incident and cooperated with authorities the entire time.

Police said the NFL star was being held at the Arapahoe County jail on a no-bond hold with a court appearance expected Friday morning.

The Broncos are aware of the situation and gathering more information, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

Jeudy, 23, has been attending the Broncos’ offseason program workouts, including last month’s voluntary minicamp.

A first-round draft pick from Alabama in 2020, Jeudy has recorded 90 catches for 1,323 yards and three touchdowns in 26 career games.

While at Alabama, Jeudy was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation's best wide receiver as a sophomore in 2018.

Jeudy only played in 10 games last season after dealing with a high ankle sprain.

The Denver Broncos made a big splash this off-season when they traded for superstar quarterback Russell Wilson.

The move ended Wilson's ten-year stay in Seattle, where he won Super Bowl XLVII and missed out on the postseason just twice.

Wilson's arrival brought a close to the Broncos' long struggle to find a successor to Peyton Manning, who retired way back in 2016.

The Seahawks received tight end, Noah Fant, defensive end Shelby Harris, quarterback Drew Lock and multiple draft picks in exchange for Wilson.

Broncos general manager George Paton previously spoke about being "aggressive" when looking to bring in a quarterback who can get the best out of a talented receiver corps.
